"When I was twelve years old, my paternal grandfather was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. For years, I watched him struggle, and his illness took a toll on my family. I saw how difficult it was for my parents, here in America, to provide my grandfather, who lived in a rural part of India, with the pain management and proper treatment he required. It was my grandfather who sparked my interest in Hospice of Wichita Falls, and now, I strongly believe that we, as citizens of the world and leaders of tomorrow, have the responsibility to support institutions such as Hospice of Wichita Falls that will provide for the community for generations to come."
-Manasvi Reddy, fundraiser organizer
The $37,782 raised from C'est La Belle Vie: A Dancer's Dream were contributed directly to Hospice of Wichita Fall's Building on a Legacy of Care Project, which aimed to double the size of their current inpatient facility that provides palliative care to the terminally ill patients of Wichita Falls. Specifically, the funds sponsored the facility's new pharmacy, named in honor of Manasvi's grandfather, who inspired this event.
